Pharnal is an instrumental prog band from Lyon, France. It has both classic rock prog, metal, neo prog, psychedelic and fusion jazz influences and tunes so let's say it's "Eclectic". Another solution is to only say "prog" without adjective. Initiated by Thibault (guitar) and Laëtitia (bass) in 2014 as a metal prog band, Pharnal progressively took shape in Lyon with Thomas (guitar), Gillian (Drum), and then Matthieu, a jazz pianist : this new influence brings a new direction to the band, toward an instrumental fusion of classic rock prog, metal prog and modern jazz. The band then records Limbes, a first EP that is been released in 2018. Listening now, sounds like a fine suggestion to me. Very good stuff. I haven't been on the Eclectic Team for many years and so won't comment on that side of things, but this is one to watch imo. ------------- Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me. |
