Detlev Schmidtchen used to be the keyboard player (and occasional guitarist) in Eloy in the 1970's.

After that he disappeared out of sight for a while, only recording Ego on the Rocks with Jurgen Rosenthal and Warlock with Jon Symon and other Eloy-members.

From 2007 until now he released at least 7 solo-albums. The music on these albums can be described as new age / ambient but has lots of the specific german electronic that made Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze famous.
His albums seem to continu the sound that Eloy had on Silent Cries and Mighty Echoes. So I suggest this artist for the Spacerock-category.

Warning: not all his songs/albums are of high quality, but I guess that's not a reason not to include him.

Really no response?

Too bad. Maybe Spacerock is not so popular anymore :(

However, Detlev Schmidtchen has entered our evaluation list now
a candidate for the progressive electronics department most likely ...

Okay, that's something.

I wonder what the Eloy and prog. electronic fans make of his music :D
