Welcome back, PA! It wasn't the same without you - I had to do 'meaningful' life things instead!

OK, confess up! Who among the Prog Archives members is it that has access to the Archives Infinity Stones and did a little `snap' that removed the site from existence earlier on?!

Well, it's obvious that a new nose length requirement is preventing you from entering these here sacred archives LOL

Seriously, as much crap that is going on these days, it's a miracle this site is even in existence.

mmmhhh!!!.. I checked out early Sunday morning (European time) and it was still down, and it is Wu that warned me/us on PE , because I had no idea... hadn't checked back since until now... so yeah, thinking about it, you could be right.

When I posted that I looked to see when the last post had been and it was 11 hours previous so I was reasonably confident.

Someone with extra hard drive space should probably back up the database before the site goes down for good.

The Baldies can't get back in for some reasons - they rebooted everything and still can't

Can the Admins do something about their double case??

^ thought it was a joke.

So, the owner really get them out?!

Probably the whole IP range is blocked if rebooting the router doesn't help. I kept getting the same your IP is banned message for a while when the site was down but it went away on its own.

Might get a better reaction of this site if we click a mouse button more slowly.

This continues to be a problem for at least one other person (probably more). If clearing the cache, trying another browser, and resetting or rebooting the router (as Vompatti suggested) doesn't help, other than using a proxy or switching services, this might require M@x intervention. I don't know exactly the changes to the security settings that were made, but I suspect that various IP ranges are blocked which have been blacklisted in various places (possibly because some are dynamic IPs and/or other people have used those IPs to create potential problems in the past or have exploited vulnerabilities) as part of the security framework.. The IPs might have been hacked and accessed for attacks by some, for instance.

I might suggest if clearing the cache and rebooting the router doesn't help that they contact their internet service provider and see about setting up a new IP address. The ISP technical support might be able to offer suggestions and make the necessary changes.

this is madness - not only do we have the captcha driving people away but now two of our oldest members are effectively banned. Confused

Yes, that's why I said "effectively" as they can't log in.

The site does look down to me, but methinks that's just a melancholic reflection of my too malaiseful self. ;)

Anyway, M@x has taken action, please let us know if the situation is rectified. Thanks.
