Hello all,

I searched across the webpage and on the forum, but am unable to find material about the band "Sea Level".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_Level_%28band%29" rel="nofollow - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_Level_(band)
Isn't it considered as progressive jazz/fusion ? Tongue

Thank you all :)

They certainly belong here for my money, but will probably remain huddled together in a blanket just outside the main entrance along with the Allman Brothers Band, who have been suggested for inclusion here a couple of times.

Anyhow, samples for anyone interested:

'Cats On The Coast' and 'Live At The Ivanhoe Theatre, Chicago, 1977' on spotify:  https://open.spotify.com/artist/3VqsPf2lM6ulJ5fjCJquyP" rel="nofollow - https://open.spotify.com/artist/3VqsPf2lM6ulJ5fjCJquyP  (the 1978 album 'On The Edge' is also up on the site, but no music stream of it is available here in the UK: https://open.spotify.com/album/2pzfOf22TBs2Cp5WEH0ngl" rel="nofollow - https://open.spotify.com/album/2pzfOf22TBs2Cp5WEH0ngl ).

There were a couple of other albums afterwards too which are also very good, but these three are the ones they are best known for.

Edit: Here are the two later albums in full on YouTube, just in case they are needed for any evaluation that might be carried out:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5oIWsShUM0" rel="nofollow - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5oIWsShUM0 , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avYibn13mf0" rel="nofollow - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avYibn13mf0 .

yeah....  as much as I love those guys.. and Martin (Alucard) was one of the best collabs this site ever head...they have made some rather... umm

interesting decisions.  Some great.  Steely Dan.

some that boggle the mind. Sea Level and Ginger Baker's Air Force. IF M@X wasn't hell bent to ruin this site, I might really care they were not added. But why care when no one really cares who gets added to this site anyomore.

Any of you all remember what it is was like back in the day. Dude we had bands, old and new, writing us and begging us to be added. Do any of you get that today?   Of course you do not. That is how far the site has sunk.. a pity. for we worked so goddamned hard on it.

Such a pitty! When I see again the links you posted (Yam Yam) I can't think they don't deserve their place!

I expect it was a close call in JR/F. There hasn't been any other suggestion for this band by an 'ordinary' member of the site out here in the open forum as far as I can tell, so a collaborator or prog reviewer must have suggested them for inclusion via the hidden JR/F team thread. Magnum Vaeltaja of the Eclectic Prog team has certainly mentioned them a few times in the 'What albums did you listen to today?....continued' thread, and long-time member and collaborator Micky seems to be in favor of their inclusion in his post above.

However, it all rests on the thoughts of the three people in the evaluation team at any given time as to whether a band or artist actually gets through...and in this case they didn't make it. They can only be re-evaluated for the same sub genre if they release some new material, and having disbanded 37 years ago, with at least two of the former band members now playing in the great gig in the sky, that seems kinda unlikely.
