Currently listening to Caravan's Golf Girl and couldn't help but smile when hearing the Morse code in the song. I can think of two other gems that contain Morse code.....Hawkwind's Spirit of the Age and Klaatu's Sub Rosa's Subway. Are ther others that I'm forgetting or haven't heard?

the starting riff in YYZ by Rush is actually a morse code used in a Toronto airport. The whole story can be found in some Rush fan sites on the web.

No, there's morse code too at another point, but it's more subtle. If you translate it it says something along the lines of "f**k off RB" - a charming little dedication to Richard Branson.

Close To The Edge, perhaps?

If anyone of you have watched "Wag the Dog" movie, there should be a prog act, who would put a morse code piece in his track, saying "Courage, Mom".

If I remember well, I think there's some Morse code on Roger Waters' "Radio Chaos". Can anyone confirm ?

I don't remember well because I got rid of it at one point... thought it wasn't Roger at his best...

A mega-obscure one: “S.O.S.” by the Russian group Ariel.

Also, didn’t Balaklava by Pearls Before Swine have some “naughty” message in Morse Code on one song?

Oddly, the Canadian group Morse Code didn’t actually have any songs with Morse Code on them (though I haven’t heard any of the early Morse Code Transmission albums, just the later prog stuff).

There's supposed to be some morse code in Strawberry Fields Forever - I'll have to look it up as I can't remember what it says. I know it's not really prog, but it's not far off.

So what does the morse code in "Golf girl" say?

Morse code is the intro to the stunning Barclay James Harvest's song Science Fiction: Nova Lepidoptera, from the 1978 album XII! The message is: U.F.O.

i tried a search too but found nothing. i think simon house was just playing around on his keyboard, it probably means nothing.

quite original to use radio albania as a song intro

Yeah, what does the morse code in "Golf Girl" translate to? I can't even find anything that might be mistaken for morse code in that song.

And what about "Watcher of the Skies?" What does that mean?

In the commentary for MP's Drums of Thought DVD, he mentioned a special "hidden nugget" that could be found somewhere in the studio version of ITNOG.

Over many weeks, many people on MP's forum were searching all through ITNOG to find out what the nugget was. Mike kept an eye on the discussions and let people know when they were wrong, and dozens of theories were proven false by MP.

One thing that he did say was that somebody had touched on what the nugget was in one of the various threads, but noone had expanded on it.

Eventually, Nick Bogovich (Bogie on the forum) discovered what the nugget actually was: the words "eat my ass and balls" spelled out in morse code from 5:51 to 6:07 of the song.

Yeah, I think it's just cause it sounds like Morse. I tried to find a meaning for it yesterday, and the best I could get was VOKUU.
