I think I would have liked to entitle this poll: "In the Wake of Poseidon's Wave to Each Other".

A not "woke" Wave over Wake vote. Love both, though.

Worst crimson album vs decent VDGG. I choose wave

In The Wake of Poseidon. Another album that is not well appreciated, but is one of my favorites nonetheless.

Interesting, it beats everything post-70s that I know for my enjoyment, including Beat. I know plenty would put Discipline over it, but I enjoy it over Discipline, Beat, Three of Perfect Pair, The ConstruKction Of Light (haven't yet heard ThraK in full) -- if you think it's worse than all of those, well, there is no point arguing taste, but arguing perception need not be pointless. The Least We Can Do is Wave to Each Other is one of my very favourite VdGG's, but to his or her own. It's a reason why individual ratings seem pretty meaningless to me commonly as an expression outside of one's own biases/ interests.

ITWOP.

Two very good albums, but KC gets more listens around here.

VDGG > KC for me, but Wake on this one.

VDGG by the slimmest of margins... But only because it wasn't really the bands sophomore album: The Aerosol Grey Machine being a Peter Hammill solo album stuck with the Van Der Graaf name for purely legal reasons. And because Poseidon was too close to being a carbon-copy of the Crimso debut.

Wave is a very cool album, somewhat underrated from my perspective. Wake is OK but not quite as cool.

Honestly rethinking it I don’t know if I’d call it the worst, I also don’t like beat or three of a perfect pair. Looking at wake, I think pictures of a city is among the best stuff they’ve ever done, and cadence is pretty good too. But I really can’t sit through the rest. However, I pretty much never listen to best of TOAPP so I think wake technically beats those for me since I at least come back for pictures of a city. As for construction of light, it is at times, really headache inducing. But the title track and frakctured save it.

Interesting choice. My default position would be to go with KC, and I happen to like In the Wake... The Least We Can Do..., however, is my favorite VDGG album. Going with Wave...
