All these duo polls have been with classic bands. Here's a modern one where all four bands have top 10 albums in 2014 and 2019 according to the current algortihm/ratings.

I'll guess IQ will win this as they have the #1 in both years. Says a lot about all four bands to have top 10 in the same two years.

IQ for sure. Resistance is the best of the 8.

I've only listened to full albums with the Bent Knee combo, so it would seem unfair for me to vote. That said I've heard enough of the IQ's to know it ain't my bag (not a Neo-Prog or Arena Hard Rock/melodic rock kind of person). I liked the chamber aspects of Electric Asturias but ultimately didn't really like it (much more adventurous and off-beat sounding Japanese bands out there), and what I heard of Opeth's Communion sounded rather dull and a certain Prog generic to me that did't excite me. I have really liked some of what I've heard of Opeth's In cauda venenum though.

Will listen to some more before posting then voting.

Okay I took the time to visit and revisit enough music to feel that it is fair enough to vote, and I'm going with the albums of the band I already liked in the list, Bent Knee.

IQ gets the nod.
Really dig their last two albums.

I have to go with Bent Knee on this one.  IQ is great at times, but not always consistently hitting the mark for me as consistently as Bent Knee lately and they really stand out this year.  Also, Opeth is great as usual, but I've heard a lot of great stuff this year.

For Opeth you skipped over sorceress. Was that intentional?

Yes. The poll pairs releases from 2014 and 2019. Sorceress came out in 2016. Bent Knee had two albums in between. I found it interesting that there are four bands with top 10 rated releases in those two years according to the algorithm. IQ #1/#1, Opeth #3/#2, Bent Knee #6/#6, and Electric Asturias #5/#10.
