Title: Arkaza - Progressive Metal (genre suggestions are welcomed!) Bio: Arkaza, a progressive metal band was founded in 2008 by Curtis Lewis and Brandon Barnes in an old garage near Richmond, Virginia. Upon contemplating the albums that initially inspired him to play, Curtis, driven by his instincts, was able to develop melodies that merged dynamically with a heavier sound. Between 2008 and 2014 Arkaza experienced its share of growing pains, but the band's current lineup began to emerge when R4W agreed to join at drummer in February of 2014. The band began writing more material and finally considered the creation of its first album. Zach Morton, was new to learning bass but was armed with passion for this music and became an exceptional bassist rather quickly. Brandon, the lead guitarist, eventually had to depart from Arkaza. After a considerable amount of searching, Rendell Gary, a friend and former band mate of R4W, was in tune with what the material needed. His ability to not only write, but adapt to existing material at lead guitar slot blew the band members away. The band sorted through countless vocalists but Aron captured the emotional tone of the music effortlessly. He wrote the bulk of the album's lyrics, but eventually too departed making way for Kevin Finklea, a musical jack of all trades, at vocalist.
