Christian prog rock band from USA made one self titled album in 1974 - which gives surprising impression . Also their name is encouraging. They had incredible strange competence to suddenly play very complex and fast. In combination with very good melodies and pastoral fragments, loud pulsing bass and sudden keyboard passages it gives a very original effect. There are also piano extravagancies (24'10 - 24'40) + post 60s psych vocals.
Favourite fragments (for example only from the first side!): 6'25-8'00 12'20-13'15 (Phantom at the Opera a little) absolutely great: 13'20-17'15
To categorise this may be difficult: basis is psychedelic, many piano and hammond fragments tends to be very symphonic + tracks are mostly eclectic like Gentle Giant from the garage...
Vindication is like middle brother to Metaphysical Animation (big one) and Graced Lightning (smallest one). I wonder if there are more of them in this forgotten family?

coment by Dylan on YT: This is a 1970's Christian-Progressive rock outfit from Indiana that my father played drums for. They recorded this in a two car garage that was converted into a home studio and pressed only around 100 of this album. bio by Brad Garton: http://sites.music.columbia.edu/brad/vindication/" rel="nofollow - http://sites.music.columbia.edu/brad/vindication/
my "professional " bio: VINDICATION was obscure American band originated from Columbus in state Indiana. The band consisting of thee members: Patrick KENNEDY (guitars, bass, vocals), Brad GARTON (various keyboards), Geoff PACHECO (drums, percussion, vocals) is one of the more mysterious entities in history of American prog.
Their only contribution is one album released in 1974 with small number of copies. Self-titled work is characterised by big dose of complexity, Christian religious lirycs and a bit lo-fi production, which makes their sound very original. Due to many intensive fragments with keybords passages, loud bass, suprising arrangements and fast changing melodies "Vindication" can be compared to GENTLE GIANT, YEZDA URFA and EMERSON,LAKE & PALMER. Despite that their opus is unique work od passion and techinical skills and has its own dusty style.
VINDICATION is recommended for experianced prog fans, who want to hear something underground.
