Reelin In The Years My Old School King Of The World Rikki Dont Lose That Number Night By Night Dont Take Me Alive Dr Wu Any World Bad Sneakers Aja Been a fan since day one....hard to choose only 10 tracks...I think they were an extremely talented duo with great sidemen...biting incisive satirical lyrics with simply stellar sophisticated pop rock with a healthy tribute to jazz. Somehow forgot about the title track of Pretzel Logic while making my list. It's maybe the archetypal Steely Dan track. If you had to pick one to represent their oeuvre...the swing-y shuffle, the jazz keyboard to drive the song rather than guitar riffs, the beautiful, magical twists to lead to the chorus, the chord-bending solo, it's got everything you associate with the band.

Exactly. I believe the second solo in Aja was also played by Becker? At least in their 90s shows, it was he who was playing it.

I think it was... I made a lot of notes when I did my series of reviews of their albums when I added them to the site (which I sadly never finished). I'd have to double check but I think he did.. he did famously give up the bass after Chuck Rainey bass-shamed him but he more than held his own with the best on the guitar.
