That is exciting news.  Something to look forward to in these uncertain times.

I'll listen to it just out of curiosity.
Arjen's last two albums did not do much for me.

I'm the opposite, Christi. I thought Ayreon came to life with 01011001 and has been on fire ever since.

Before that it was too much whiny folk crap that took up too much time. The newest stuff is much more dynamic and diverse.

I found The Source a bit of a letdown, but it was still a terrific album.  Excited for this one, it has a good feel so far (which sounds crazy, I know!)

I came to say the same thing. I've stuck with him this long so I will definitely listen, but unless its a total knock out I don't see a purchase in my future.

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

I might give them another chance, although Ayreon is one of those bands I need a special mood for.

Been a massive fan ever since first listen to The Human Equation - just about the most exciting thing I have ever heard.....only equalled by first time seeing Les Miserables in the West End (which happened to be within a month of each other) Cool

New trailer on youtube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2PidKn4IbA" rel="nofollow - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2PidKn4IbA

And some stuff I found on reddit that came via facebook from AL

  • "the album was already finished before the quarantaine"

  • entering two months period of cruel teasing followed by opening pre-orders

  • "Definitely less power-metal then The Source"

  • No Anneke

  • No aliens this time! Supernatural ... yes

  • albums guests: "couple of surprises"

  • without Ed Warby (!!!)

  • "very different Ayreon" but "this probably sounds very Ayreon"

  • "I play quite a few solos on this one! And some big surprises"

  • "No Dracula in this story, Wim, but plenty of supernatural stuff"

  • "Not that heavy actually"

  • "Not medieval, DrDobos, but yeah... we definitely go back in time again. Just not that far"

  • Ajren had quite positive response to comment mentioning Victorian era...

edit:

+ WILD speculation in YouTube comment section about John Petrucci on the album! It makes kind of sense since Arjen and John Petrucci met last year in Holland on https://youtu.be/1IoF5U691gQ?t=1229" rel="nofollow - SEGA European Guitar Awards 2019 .
