Here's three fantastic rock albums that all have some proggy elements in the mix. I rate all of these 5 stars in Prog Related but I couldn't possibly choose between them. I'll try to vote, but I gotta relisten to all of these and reevaluate firstSmile

Not sure that Burn is particularly proggy but it is my favourite DP album and I'm torn between that and Argus, don't really know the BOC one.
I will give it some thought.

If I could only keep one it would be Secret Treaties...but I like Argus quite a bit.......never cared much for DP and certainly not Burn.

I like argus a lot and the ash were a fine live band but secret treaties has astronomy and flaming telepaths on it. No contest. Burn is a rock album.

Regarding Burn, I don't think it's a prog album, but I feel like it's a rock album that prog fans would really like if that makes sense. I kinda feel the same about the other two, though Argus is pretty darn progressive if you ask me.

Secret Treaties!!!   Beer

Man...ME 262 alone lays waste to anything on either of the two albums. Throw in some Dominance and Submission and you have yourself a first rate ass kicking of two otherwise good albums..

yeah... nor Subhuman.. Career of Evil but what good what it have done man...

The truth is ..  they are the weak and I am tyranny of good tastes..but I'm trying hard.. I'm trying really hard Ringo to be the Sheppard

but I don't even if I did my pandemic afflicted lettuce the whole Jerry Curl thing, whipped out my 'bad motherf**ker' wallet and waved around my 50 AE (9mils are for pussies and Hollywood actors).. it wouldn't do any good

the people on this forum are beyond saving man..

A great trio of albums in their own way, which have been played to excess at times in the past. However, have to go for Wishbone Ash's finest moment on this one. Argus is timeless.

Argus for me.

Interesting that Argus was from 1972 the other two from 1974

Three non-prog albums that I love and still listen to sometimes. I think Argus is the one I prefer

Argus is timeless and one of half a dozen albums I consider to be almost perfect.
Burn is pretty good but BOC do nothing for me.

Burn...

I'll be honest, I never really understood the hype around Argus

Argus from these three, but it's by far WA's best album (their first two follow, the rest....Ermm)

Burn is second on the list, but there are at least 4 Purple albums ahead of it

Treaties is by a margin BOC's best

If you don't take David Coverdale's lyrics into account (which is easy to do), the title track and "Might Just Take Your Life" can both singlehandedly lay waste to everything the other two bands ever accomplished.

BURN, by light years.
