It sounds weird but I found this band in 2009 by random chance downloading any songs free for download. They instantly became my favorite act since but I've never heard anything like them in all my time being invested in prog so I'm here in a desperate effort to find anything similar.

They have a really jazzy/funky upbeat feel most of the time and incorporate a lot of electronic elements such as drum machines at times and really techincal synths, all the while coming back to melodic classic prog sounds similar to Gentle Giant. I really like the jazzy electronic elements and want some more stuff like it.

Chat Noir might have less prog content than you'd prefer (to me it's basically jazz-EDM crossover) but there are some commonalities:

If you like the above their last album Hyperuranion is worth investigating.

Soldato of the Pan Head Mafia. We'll make you an offer you can't listen to.

I wasn't feeling Chat Noire but this band is exactly the kind of stuff I was looking for. Much appreciated.

I just listened to their first album recently which i own. It was a grower! To my ears they don't sound like any other band that i've heard.

Glad you liked it!

While I'm here, you might also dig Gaudi:

Or not. But it's worth a quick listen.
