The Swiss band ISLAND is one of my all time favorite prog bands but sadly only released one official album before disbanding.

The album PICTURES came out in 1977 and has been an underground classic for "those in the know" for decades but it seems that the album is finally getting the attention is deserves.

All i can say is that everyone should check out this unique sounding band that was very much as talented as any of the bigwigs of the classic prog years!

Listen to it NOOOOOOW! And only rate it if you're giving 5 stars Wink

I've heard the album several times and it's one of those I have been meaning to buy for several years now....
it's on my list which is longer than my arm.

^ yeah, i know that feeling. I picked up a copy a few years ago. It's been quite pricey in the past but the fact it's gaining in popularity (it's even up to #6587 for all time albums on Rate Your Music) means it should get a much needed reissuing.

By the way the version with the bonus track Empty Bottles is highly recommended. It's over 23 minutes long and fits in with the original album perfectly!

I picked it up earlier this year after it being on my 'to buy' list for a number of years. It's very good.
