Purple for me

(I find that Masters and Vol 4 are fairly weak, compared to Paranoid and s/t.)

BTW, does your album runs include their self-titled albums (third and debut respectively)?

They're all 4-star albums, so it's a tie. Smile

it's just stating your preference.

I said for the fun of it, it's not like I'm comparing Moody Blues to Obituary. LOL

voting gets closed only when the thread gets closed. That is if no one posts like in a  year or so. LOL

And even if I had the power to close threads, why would I? I created this thread 4 days ago. LOL

I like Sabbath a lot but love Purple, and they have more variety in their music. If Sabbath Bloody Sabbath was included it would have been closer.

I started making a 1973-1976 BS vs DP poll but gave up and did not post it.

Tell me if you want me to continue with the second DP vs BS poll. Smile

Yep, Purple for me. I have to admit that I don't know Vol. 4, but that fact is probably telling enough...

I'm not much of a Black Sabbath fan, so I go with Deep Purple.

Deep Purple was the first band that really opened my eyes to music, so I just have to vote them, still some of my all time favorite albums. I used to listen to In Rock and Machine Head every single day in high school, still hit just as hard. Fireball is right up there, but Burn will always complete my top 3.

But while I say that, I think all those Sabbath albums are incredible and I hold them in very high esteem as well. If Sabbath Bloody Sabbath was hypothetically in place of Vol 4 is would be a complete coin toss.

possibly because you are a newbie, if I remember right (I could be wrong), you become a groupie at 50 posts and then you can vote and create polls and threads.

I really wanted to vote Sabbath, but had to be honest and choose Purple.

Why? Three flawless albums vs. Sabbath's two flawless and one slightly weaker yet still very good. Vol.4, that is.

I'm very fond of Fireball and Paranoid, and like quite a lot Master of Reality, Vol. 4 and In Rock - and that's just the way it is. Smile
