Brian Eno, Harold Budd, Daniel Lanois

I dont know if you all would consider pianist Harold Budd to be Progressive Rock, but I do.  His work with Brian Eno and Cocteau Twins (Robin Guthrie) is unlike most anything I've ever heard.  He made the simple sound of the piano a complex intimate affair that can trigger visuals and memories like none other.

He passed away Dec 8 2020 from complications from Covid (The TrumpVirus).

He composed some truly transcendent music; the value was in the gaps as much as in the notes. Cry

Harold Budd was an avante garde/ambient pioneer. RIP.

Abandoned Cities, The White Arcades and The Room are three ambient albums everyone should hear (if you're into that).

Harold Budd was the embodiment of Robert Fripp's statement : "Music is the cup that holds the wine of silence."
