Three amazing guitarists who rarely get a mention on here. (No mention of vocals please, as Mike Holmes sounds like a crow farting when he sings.)
I deliberately left out Steve Rothery because, although he's wonderful beyond belief, he gets plenty of exposure on here.

Good move not including Mr. Rothery - that would have been an immediate "click".
Mike Holmes gets the nod for this poll.

Nick Barrett, although the other 2 are great as well.

First vote for John Mitchell. A fantastic guitarist, orchestrator and composer.

All great!
Voted Holmes for the tone and feel.
John is commendable for "switching it up" in the various bands he's in.  He doesn't always sound the same.

I'm not sure, but I'm going with Mike Holmes - IQ.

Mike Holmes is fantastic. But my vote is for John Mitchell . his performance with John Wetton in a memorable show in Poland (is free in Youtube) is dazzling, including a Martin Orford always perfect.

Now, this could be very useful for specific sound effects...

Not listed, but if he was included, my vote would go to Niall Matthewson (from Pallas fame).
But from these three Mike Holmes (I actually don't remember hearing farting crows in IQ's music, though...).

Mike Holmes is fantastic but I love John Mitchell as well. Never bothered that much with Pendragon so don't know Barrett very well.
Not sure if Magenta are classed as 'Neo' but Chris Fry is another one worthy of mention.

All three are great, so this is a difficult one.

Nick Barrett, I think.

Agree that all 3 are great, but Mike Holmes gets my vote by a considerable way.

He would also get my vote if Mr. Rothery WAS in the poll...

I'll vote for Nick Barret. He's a great lead player, and somewhat 'underrated' although Pendragon are my least favourite neo prog act out of those.

John Mitchell is also excellent, although I much preferred Frank Dunnery in It Bites. He was an exceptional guitarist.

Mitchell. My favorite outside the list is the guy from Jadis.

I listened to Jadis yesterday, I agree, great guitar work.
in fact I was thinking to create a neo-prog poll. Smile Jadis included.

Still don't know why Steve Rothery isn't included in this poll. Are you saying he's too good and so it wouldn't be a contest? For the record I like all three guitarists in this poll and give it to Mike Holmes.
