So I wanted to pair two off choosing one that Cardiacs often played live (rather than a "studio album" release) and one from Pendragon off The Jewel which a couple of people mentioned as being favourite Pendragon album. I didn't find suitable vids of Pendragon performing the music from the mid 80s to early 90s, so I went with both recorded in studio versions rather than lives.
I have heard with some songs that instantly clicked from The Jewel, including "Circus". Since Cardiacs music often evokes the Circus, the name of the track automatically appealed, and then when listening to the whole album this was a favourite of mine on it. That said, I felt that "Leviathan" paired better with Cardiacs and since the Leviathan is a mythical giant sea monster, I thought that might pair well with a Big Ship in name (and both are from about the same time).
Cardiacs - "Big Ship"
Pendragon - "Leviathan"
Will the Big Ship cannons slay the Leviathan, or will the Leviathan sink the Big Ship? I say that just for fun since I don't treat these as contests.

Of the three Cardiacs-Pendragon pairings you offered us (till now), this one feels the most "natural" or "obvious"... For me the Big Ship sails alongside Leviathan for quite a long while. I very much like the post-punk prog bombast combined with their typical quirkiness on this Cardiacs track and also the melodic prog bombast and catchy refinement on this Pendragon track, so this is very much a gun-on-the-head/desert-island choice (since there's no "both" option). I go with Pendragon, this time...

Good to see someone who appreciates both selections, and I am pleased to see this poll get a comment (I never vote in polls without commenting and I comment more than I vote). Thanks Kees. I really appreciated The Jewel, and was glad to have that suggestion before. It is now my favourite Pendragon album that I have heard easily. This has been a learning curve for me. With the first of this series, it was just some automatic vague strange association due to an association I made a long time ago with some other Cardiacs and Pendragon piece that no doubt shared some notes and instruments in common The second was a little more thought out, but also rather forced due to my more limited knowledge of early Pendragon, and this one comes from a place of a little less ignorance as I have got to know Pendragon more.
By the way, I was looking into instrumental (non-vocal) Pendragon, are there any suggestions?

Pendragon again
Cardiacs, not my thing, even with this catchy tune here.

Big Ship is not only by one of my "big 5" bands, it's also one of their best songs if not the best, so no chance for Pendragon here despite this being their best song up to now in this series by some distance. Pretty cool this one.

"Leviathan," but I knew that going in. "Big Ship" is a solid track, though (apart from my issue with the vocalist).
