I've been poking around this site for about six months and have finally gotten around to introducing myself.  I live in Denver, Colorado and have been re-discovering 70s progressive rock in recent years.  Aside from Spock's Beard and a handfull of other bands I really had little sense that there was much going on currently in prog.  This site has obviously helped to "educate" me a bit about newer progressive music - much of which I really enjoy.  I guess I would put Genesis and Pink Floyd at the top of my list of favorite prog artists simply because they are the bands I've been listening to for years.  Not surprisingly I find things about second generation bands like IQ and Marillion that I really like, but the way they borrow from the "classics" sometimes sends me back to the source.  I'm open to suggestions about newer bands to check out that work in a more-or-less "symphonic" style, but also like some prog metal (I also enjoy hard rock and heavy metal - mostly of the 1970s variety).

Look forward to chatting further.  Glad to have found this site.

B.C.
