Formed in 2010, Barishi are an American progressive sludge trio based in Brattleboro, Vermont. Initially a quartet under the name Atlatl, the group changed their name to its current iteration in 2012 and independently released their self-titled debut in 2013. An EP would follow two years later, with their sophomore LP Blood from the Lion's Mouth released on Season of Mist in 2016. Their vocalist, Sascha Simms, would depart Barishi the following year, leaving original members Jonathan Kelley (bass), Dylan Blake (drums) and Graham Brooks (guitars). Brooks became lead vocalist, and the band's sound would take a leap forward in heaviness, with more pronounced elements of death and doom metal demonstrated on their third album, Old Smoke. Barishi's style can be compared to Inter Arma, Intronaut, Mastodon, Rwake, Kylesa and Baroness.

*Bump*

(hope I did everything correctly and that I'm not overwhelming the team)

No you are not overwhelming the team.  Sometimes things somehow slip through the cracks.  Typically, if you don't see a response for a suggestion after 2 weeks have passed, just do a bump like you did and I should see it.  I usually check this daily, but there are a few times when I still tend to miss it apparently.

As always, thanks for your suggestions!

Forwarded to Progressive Metal team.

Thanks for clarifying, T. And it's a pleasure to share my finds with you all (I have over 50 upcoming suggestions for Tech/Extreme and over 40 for Post-Metal alone, so I want to make sure I'm not inundating you).

Thank you.  We're trying to get them reviewed and added as quickly as we can.  It helps to not be backlogged too much.  I know there are a lot out there that need to be reviewed, so this stream of them has been helpful.

Good to know. I'll focus on submitting only cutting edge groups and obscure gems, preferably artists who don't have a ton of releases for you to sift through. I'm especially excited showing you all the next few on my list!
