Suppose Genesis decide to play one song from each album on the upcoming 'The Last Domino' tour (but as they are getting on a bit, they decide against 'Supper's Ready') but which tracks should they pick? Here's my selection, in case they ask me: 1. The Conqueror 2. Looking for Someone 3. Harlequin 4. Can Utility and the Coastliners 5. The Cinema Show 6. Carpet Crawlers 7. Entangled 8. One for the Vine 9. Deep in the Motherlode 10. Behind the Lines 11. Dodo/Lurker 12. Illegal Alien 13. Land of Confusion 14. Jesus He Knows Me 15. Alien Afternoon

OK, I'll play. 1. In the Beginning 2. Stagnation 3. Harold the Barrel 4. Can-Utility and the Coastliners 5. The Cinema Show 6. Riding the Scree 7. Squonk 8. Eleventh Earl of Mar 9. Down and Out 10. Duke's Travels/Duke's End 11. Dodo/Lurker 12. Home by the Sea/Second Home by the Sea 13. The Brazilian 14. Fading Lights 15. Calling All Stations Home by the Sea is probably the only one of these with a chance of being played. It would be a good idea for making a set list, though I think From Genesis to Revelation should be disregared. This album was for example not included in the recent re-issue series of the band's back catalogue and the band members themselves seem to think of Trespass as their real debut. From that album it would be great to hear The Knife. But I think the earliest song they will actually play is I Know What I Like. |

Pleased to see a couple of my selections on there - Moonlit Knight (but will they play the whole thing??!) and Fading Lights. Also quite pleased to see That's All included , a massively underrated song imo.

If they would do a new studio album, why wouldn't Collins be druming on it? Just because he isn't able to play the drums live, doesn't necessarily mean that he is not able to do so in the studio. I do hope that the three of them will make a new studio record; one that harks back to the sounds of the late 70's/early 80's period, particularly of ...And Then There Were Three and Duke. Hackett would probably not be involved, but if he would it would most probably be as a guest on one or two tracks. I don't think that is impossible given how many guest spots Hackett does on other people's albums. |

One song I'd like to see live from each album...hm... 1. this obviously doesn't matter, plus this is easily the last album they'd ever play anything from. I think Gabriel would revisit it solo before they did 2. Visions Of Angels 3. The Musical Box 4. Supper's Ready (of course) 5. Dancing With The Moonlit Knight 6. It 7. Ripples 8. Eleventh Earl Of Mar 9. I'm not huge on ATTWT, so a cursory Follow You, Follow Me is a okay in my book, nice pop tune 10. Behind The Lines 11. Dodo/Lurker 12. Just A Job To Do 13. I thought about it... but honestly the pinnacle of the song is Hackett's solo. I'd love to see them play it, but not seeing them play it with Hackett is enough points off that I'd prefer Dancing With The Moonlit Knight. ------------- Porg for short. I was under the impression Phil can't barely drum anymore period, not just live. His hands just aren't reliable anymore. I also feel like if Tony and Mike had another Genesis album in them we would've seen it by now. It's been about 24 years... I think that's long enough to say they must just not want to. Of course somehow I'm still holding out hope for another Gabriel studio album... that's probably misplaced. ------------- Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog!
