Subject: Caravan Debut vs Camel Debut

| Both are debut albums by bands that have connected with each other at times. Ex: Richard Sinclair in Camel's Raindance to Breathless. I see both of them as similar, because they have the classic lineups on both albums, have some really good songs on their albums, but do not seem to be full on established yet. |

I like both but Caravan's is of more interest to me. ------------- Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me. |

Can't believe Caravan's debut is losing big time over any Camel album  Though in this case, it's a (very) good Caravan album against Camel's best. . ------------- let's just stay above the moral melee prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword |

Hi, Camel for me. Caravan's first album was a sort of bunch of singles, and while some were nice, I don't think the quality that they developed later was quite as visible. | Although the Caravan debut is my favorite of them, it's still quite a ways below the first Camel album (and most of theirs). I like that Camel's is more instrumental, and has stronger guitar work. Even when there are vocals, they're better than the other band. The Caravan album has lots of reverb and atmosphere though, which I wish they had continued with. |

Arubaluba! There's not much Separation between the two, but I'll Never Let Go of any of my precious Camel albums - including The Single Factor - so the Guildford Scene wins by a narrow margin over the Canterbury Scene.
