BTW was it snowing on Christmas Eve in Canada?
Over here in Poland it looked like it was going to snow but then it started raining.

^Unfortunately no. It did on Thursday evening, but then it got mild on Friday and everything is melting today. White Christmas...yes, White Christmas with mucky patches of half exposed grass...absolutely !
But a healthy and happy household nonetheless !

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone. We had half an inch of snow here in New Jersey yesterday. It’s raining today and the snow is long gone. Unfortunately it’s not the happiest of Christmas’s for my mother or myself. We are experiencing very difficult times. Anyhow, my best to all of you. I just rejoined Prog archives after many years. I was a member when the forum first started. I look forward to sharing my love for progressive music in its many forms and sharing of myself once again. It was very fun and exciting back in 2005. Time has marched forward and much has changed. One thing that hasn’t is my love for progressive rock. Music has been around as long as we have. Music can be and is healing for me. I’m sure other members here can relate. It’s Christmas and this time of year really brings family and friends into focus. Also for many God is a topic that comes along this time of year. Nothing is more important to me than God and family and this is something that is always important to me no matter what time of year. I’m not throwing God in anyones face and I’m no one to judge anyone. I’m focusing on family and friends right now. Unfortunately this is very strained currently. I’m very sad about this yet will not lose hope. Neither God nor music takes the place of family or friends and never will or can. Family and friends have always been so important and dear to me. I have family here in New Jersey, in Pittsburg Pennsylvania and in Valencia California my mother and I are basically estranged from. It breaks my heart to think about. I’m grateful to have a wonderful and loving mother. I take care of my mother. This takes much of my energy. She has been here for me and I have been and always will be here for her. I have two children I haven’t seen for several years and four grandchildren. This breaks my heart. It’s nothing I did wrong and as a loving caring father and just the man I am I will wait patiently for them as long as it takes. Sorry so personal. I needed to vent a bit. I found this forum to be an extended family to some extent in the past and look forward with all of life’s lessons’ learned since being a member here to be a part of an extended family once again and much more if possible. Once again Merry Christmas to all of you.

Christmas is about sharing, not just gifts, but sharing the heart.
Since my folks passed on 10 years ago I'm pretty much estranged from my sister and her kids. My folks were the glue that bound the family. I'm sure all the PA community send their love and best wishes your way.

JD sorry for the loss of your parents. I hope all works out with your sister and children/family. Death should draw people closer. I too am estranged from my sister, brother-in-law, nephew and niece. She unfortunately doesn’t speak to our mother either. Like you said, sharing from the heart is so much more important than sharing gifts. Just got done eating Christmas dinner. We had Turkey, sweat potatoes, spiced broccoli and scalloped potatoes. Very good. I hope everyone is having a peaceful, healthy and love filled Christmas.

I betcha this is 10 times as much as they got in Toronto.
Or if that fell on Hogtown (Tor's little nickname), it melted a few hours later.

I'm in Central Ontario and we had a green Christmas which is fairly rare, I mean I've seen a few but the front lawn was green not white.

My wife and I honeymooned way back when outside of Vancouver at Whistler-Blackcomb in January just after the holidays. Wet, wet snow, but gobs of the stuff. Canada is certainly a wonder.
