Aeviterne are an American atmospheric death metal band from New York City, formed in 2015 by guitarist/vocalist Garrett Bussanick as a successor to his old group http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=7906" rel="nofollow - Flourishing .
Bussanick recruited fellow Flourishing bandmate and bassist Eric Rizk and former http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=6459" rel="nofollow - Castevet drummer Ian Jacyszyn to complete Aeviterne's primary lineup, which released the two-track EP Sireless in 2018 via P2. The band took the next several years to carefully record and mix the songs for their debut, all of which were written before the release of Sireless. Aeviterne became a quartet with the addition of guitarist Samuel Smith (of http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=8874" rel="nofollow - Artificial Brain and http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=12000" rel="nofollow - Fawn Limbs ), and the band's first album, The Ailing Facade, saw the light of day in 2022, mixed and mastered by both Jacyszyn and http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=4865" rel="nofollow - Gorguts' Colin Marston and issued by Profound Lore Records. The record's concept deals with "turning inward to focus on the abyss of consciousness itself," namely: "the curse of sentience; the futility of productivity; the breakdown of consensus reality; humanity’s twin drives to propagate and destroy itself, locked in permanent perverse competition."
Aeviterne's experimental death metal continues to explore and refine the Immolation, Gorguts and Godflesh-inspired industrial and post-punk style pioneered by Flourishing, and will appeal to fans of Castevet, Ingurgitating Oblivion, Sunless, Baring Teeth, Carcinoma and Ulcerate.
