Active since 2014, Au-Dessus are a Lithuanian post-black metal band from Vilnius, playing a dissonant and coldly atmospheric combination of black and sludge metal in the vein of Blut aus Nord and Schammasch. All former members of the defunct death metal band Paralytic, Au-Dessus began as the quartet of vocalist/bassist Mantas Gurkšnys (of Exile into Suffery), guitarists Simonas Motiejūnas (of Pergalė) and Jokūbas Kiauleikis (formerly of Metempsychos), and drummer Džiugas Šukys (also of Exile into Suffery).

Au-Dessus released their self-titled EP debut in 2015 through Witching Hour Productions, and their first full-length, End of Chapter, via Les Acteurs de l'Ombre Productions in 2017. Šukys left the band in the wake of the EP to be replaced by Mandragora drummer Šarūnas Bedulis, but returned to the fold in 2018, and Au-Dessus issued the Mend EP in 2022, a conceptual work described by the band as the story of "a broken mind on a path to mending itself and finding peace with [its] own demons."

Au-Dessus are stylistically similar to Dodecahedron, Entropia, Regarde les Hommes Tomber, The Great Old Ones, Vattnet Viskar, Mouth of the Architect and Départe.

Thank you, noted

-------------
Take me down, to the underground
Won't you take me down, to the underground
Why oh why, there is no light
And if I can't sleep, can you hold my life
