Read first: Includes non-prog acts.  My second Knebworth as a 16 year old - another great line up.  
* Billed as Rockpile but essentially the same band that played on Dave Edmunds' album
** Todd Rundgren joined them for the encores
*** Zappa in record company disputes - not promoting a particular album (Studio Tan was released a few days later)

Peter Gabriel II is the only album I know in this poll, but any memories I have of hearing that album for the first time over a year ago have since Melted away into the background. Embarrassed

The first concert I ever went to was the Tubes in '77. It remains one of the most outrageous concerts I have ever been to. No album, not even a live one, can adequately capture that madness, but it still got my vote.
