Dagtum are a Filipino avant-garde death metal trio from Pateros, formed sometime in the early years of the global coronavirus crisis. The group consists of three established figures in the Pinoy extreme metal underground: vocalist/bassist Adam Carlo Along (of death metal group Legion), drummer Ronaldo Vivo Jr. and his guitarist brother Ronnel (both of post-metal band Basalt Shrine and psych-rock unit the Insektlife Cycle, among others). Dagtum perform a fusion of black, death and atmospheric sludge metal with experimental touches, comparable to a meeting of the minds between Gorguts, Neurosis, Ulcerate, Flourishing and Portal. Produced by the Vivo brothers at their Sound Carpentry Recordings studio, Dagtum's debut LP, Revered Decadence, was released via Eastbreath Records in 2021.
