Geddy Lee Discussess R30 DVD And Next Studio Album:

"'Well, basically nobody was in a big hurry to do another live project, because we've got about 60,000 of them out there,' singer/bassist Geddy Lee tells Billboard.com's Greg Prato with a laugh. 'But when we were touring Europe on the last tour, we hadn't been to those countries in 10 years - some of them 20 years. And there was such an exuberant response from the crowd; it just seemed like a unique opportunity to capture the band in that kind of environment. The venue is very old,' Lee continues. 'We've played there a couple of times. It's always a strange atmosphere for North Americans to come over there and play in one of these buildings that Hitler used to do speeches in and so forth. So it's always got kind of an ominous vibe for us. But the crowd is always great and a lot of fans hadn't seen us in a long time.'...As for the vintage footage, Lee attributes the discovery of some it to his brother, who works in the film business. 'He took it upon himself to get involved in our vault and see what the hell was lying around down there, and he discovered some of these old things that we had forgotten about,' Lee says, adding that some of the clips 'are kind of painful to watch [laughs]! Bad hair, bad glasses. You just kind of look in wonderment like, "Is that really me?" And you really feel how much you've changed since that time.' Meanwhile, Rush is gearing up for a new album, the follow-up to 2002's Vapor Trails. 'We're just at the stage now where we're getting ourselves ready to do some writing,' Lee reports. So that will take place over the next six to eight months probably, and we'll gather some material together into a record.'"

The new album is going to come out somewhere around 2006, plus the re-release of Exit... Stage Left, Grace Under Pressure Tour and A Show of Hands, in DVD format, remastered and re-mixed in 5.1 stereo.

A part from that, a new tourbook compilation will be out by January 2006 and a Complete Video Collection, which includes the bands later years under Atlantic Records, will come out same year...

So there is plenty of Rush dosis in 2006...  Seems to be a great year for Rush fans...

I hope RUSH finally write a song that's over 10min long, just one alteast. I like the direction they're looking to go for in Vapor Trails with a return to their basic hard sound, but i wouldnt mind another Xanadu or La Villa Strangiato

LOL, wishful thinking me thinks... Althought Secret Touch on VT is over 6 minutes long so with a couple of decent guitar solos and a more shall we say elaborate instrumental structure it wouldn't seem to be too impossible a thought. I really wish they would couple their harder sound with a bit more instrumental flash this time around... And I do not mean over-dubbing things to the point where the songs themselves get 'choked'

This will be my first experience of a completely new Rush album since I started to listen to the band so yay for that.

Nonsense.  Circuit City has them for $10.  Lou and the Minati family already own your cash.  Treat yourself.

Another try  but I doubt it will measure up   Rush just havent got it anymore, I`m not going to count the days till it comes out,  not unless Rush call the new CD "time machine" and it can transport us back to the 70`s

Yes, you're right but I live in Turkey. I don't know what I'll pay for orders but I'm looking for that now.

I cant wait to get my hands on thoses DVD's!!

I am hoping that their new album is a little more like the Rush I like, and a little less metal than Vapour Trails. VT didn't really do much for me.

I wouldn't mind some more VT-like stuff. To me, it blows a lot of their 80s and 90s stuff out of the water. Doesn't compare to the 70s era though.

Absolutely, another Xanadu would do the world well.
