Just a quick three song poll. I was not familiar with the Heather Findlay one until today (been exploring her and related music to try to expand my horizons a bit), but the lyrics and title of the song immediately reminded me of two "modern" much loved by me tracks off much loved by me albums sung by much loved by me female artists. Hope no one Reins on parade, has me Horse-drawn and quartered and Ripped to shreds for this poll.... Portishead - The Rip (2008) "Wild, white horses They will take me away And the tenderness I feel Will send the dark underneath Will I follow?" Heather Findlay - Whild White Horses (2019) "And on that sacred dawn we'll see wild white horses running free Wanna watch them running free Wanna watch them running free Running, running free Wild white horses ride From the dark Into the light" Chelsea Wolfe - Reins (2013) "These horses they pull me These horses they pull me These tires they pull me These winds they push me..." ------------- Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me. |

I love this song by Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man  I had no idea Beth Gibbons was the singer with Portishead until today.

^^ Paul, I also love that song by Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man. I actually listened to the whole album that it's off a couple of hours before making this poll (I had heard it before). This is a favourite of mine off it. That is a nice Heather Findlay song, but it still is between my two older favourites, and since "Reins" has a vote, I will go with "The Rip" (which has been the most important of these songs to me, anyway). I love it. ------------- Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me. |

Great playing in the Heather Findlay song, but it also sounds the most formulaic of the three; nice but not very original. I'm hesitating between the Portishead one and the Chelsea Wolfe one. I find more originality (or at least "own-ness") in each of these - very different moods though, so this could depend on the mood of the day. But today, I don't know in what mood I am, so this is a toss-up, in favour of Chelsea Wolfe... ------------- The razamataz is a pain in the bum |
