Active in the late 2000s, Sun Watcher were a short-lived North American psychedelic rock duo based in central Ohio, consisting of Emeralds guitarist Mark McGuire and Shane Mackenzie, former drummer of infamous noise-rock group Lambsbread. Here Mackenzie handled an acoustic kit as well as drum machine and organ, crafting hazy and bucolic meditative improvised jams with McGuire's instantly recognisable post-Göttsching guitar style; some tracks featured gently propulsive motorik coexisting with showers of free-jazz fills, and others soporific beatless drone and layers of loops.

McGuire and Mackenzie's recording sessions yielded four releases between 2008 and 2009, one of which a collaboration with Lambsbread guitarist Zac Davis, all issued as limited edition CDRs and cassettes via the Wagon and High Spirits labels.

"Two and a Half Men" (2008)

"Sun Watcher feat. Zac Davis" (2008)

"Gold" (2008)

"Red Hairs" (2009)
