| Miles Davis' bands and the first incarnations of Mahavishnu and Return to Forever blew everybody else out of the water, IMO. Brand X is a neat band but none of those guys were real jazz musicians. |

Don't forget the Italian band "Arti & Mestieri" with their release "Tilt." The drumming on this album is incredible and the band comes up with some melodious, high energy, jazz/rock fusion. |
