Boris is a Japanese experimental rock band formed in 1992 by drummer Atsuo, Nagata, Takeshi, and Wata. The band has over twenty studio albums spanning multiple genres. Their album Amplifier Worship is a mixture of drone, sluge and noise rock while Feedbacker is a 43 minute Post Rock epic or the infamous Pink album being a heavy psychedelic sheogaze classic with elements of Japanese Hardcore.
An eclectic band for sure, any prog fan who's looking for interesting rock music should definitely give Boris a chance or five

I would love to see this band get added I'm honestly surprised they haven't been already. They definitely have way more proggy moments then some other bands here (Steely Dan, Radiohead, and Man Man come to mind)

Hopefully this expanded bio is better, sorry on my half I'm pretty new at this

Boris is a Japanese experimental rock band formed in 1992 by drummer Atsuo, Nagata, Takeshi, and Wata. The band has over twenty studio albums spanning multiple genres. Their album Amplifier Worship is a mixture of drone, sluge and noise rock while Feedbacker is a 43 minute Post Rock epic or the infamous Pink album being a heavy psychedelic sheogaze classic with elements of Japanese Hardcore.
The band has covered a lot of genres including, but not limited to, psychedelic rock, punk rock, sludge metal, doom metal, drone metal, pop, noise, shoegaze, and ambient. As well as influences from bands like The Melvins, Talk Talk and Can. The band initially didn't receive much popularity in Japan, it wasn't until the 2000s when an American label would reissue their music and achive some popularity in the west, but the huge surge in fame would come from the bands 2006 relese "Pink" which would receive critical praise, it is considered to be one of the best albums of the 2000s reaching attention of outlets such as Spin, Pitchfork and Exlaim!. Boris has since garnered a large following amongst fans and critics alike and continues to be a genre defying act, even collaborating with artists like Sunn O))), Nine Inch Nails and Keiji Haino
An eclectic band for sure, any prog fan who's looking for interesting rock music should definitely give Boris a chance or five

Also for the submitter, you can't request an artist on this site directly for Prog Related. Only if it's rejected from a proper prog category can a collaborator make the request for that

and Boris is a strong for for Post/Experimental Metal, too
