Formed in 2013, Chaos Motion are a Mexican avant-garde technical death metal band, originally known as Nebular Vision from 2007 to 2012. Originally based in León, Guanajuato, Nebular Vision were a more straightforward death metal act, formed by drummer Juan Pablo Muñoz and guitarist/vocalist Guillermo González along with bassist Fabián Montelongo, all three formerly of black metal group Goat Perversion. The unsigned trio self-produced and released the Fractal Dimension EP in 2008. Montelongo departed in 2009 while the band added vocalist Erik Núñez, who participated on the 2010 EP In-Existence. But as their later material became more dense and technical, facilitating written notation, the band saw fit to change their name to fit their new approach: Chaos Motion better describes the Gorguts and free improv-influenced style the band adopted upon their rebirth in 2013.

Muñoz moved to Strasbourg, France, in 2013 and recruited local guitarist Alexis Tedde of Armageddon Death Squad, with González travelling to join them the following year. The project's first demonstration was the 2016 Psychotic Spasm single, recorded back in Mexico with Núñez in 2013. Chaos Motion later signed to Transcending Obscurity Records, which released their Colin Marston-mastered debut LP, Psychological Spasms Cacophony, in 2019, again featuring music recorded in Mexico but with Tedde's additional overdubs.

Chaos Motion were whittled down to a duo in 2022 after Tedde left the project the previous year and González followed suit, replaced by Devhyom's Simo Bousseta. Núñez returned to the band as permanent vocalist in late 2023.

Chaos Motion's spastic, off-kilter extreme metal will appeal to fans of Negativa, Pyrrhon, Baring Teeth, Behold the Arctopus, Artificial Brain and Car Bomb.
