Psicosfera are an Argentinian post-black metal band from Morón, Buenos Aires and founded in 2013. The original quartet consisted of guitarists Gabriel Sabatini (of Abolition of Impediment and Inexistence) and Gabriel Luque (of Vil and Hellige) along with bassist Juan Martin Venezia (also of Abolition of Impediment) and drummer Juan Facundo Brinville (also of Vil). This formation resulted in 2015's Alpha, the first in a duology of instrumental LPs similar to the work of Sannhet, Russian Circles and even Pelican, independently released (but later reissued by Traumatic Records). Venezia departed in the wake of Alpha, replaced by Lucas Coronel (of Asimo and Vil) who recorded with the restabilised quartet for 2018's Beta, again self-released through Bandcamp and reissued a year later by Avantgarde Music.
In 2021, Psicosfera once more experienced convulsions in their lineup with Charly Sanchez (formerly of Those Endless Eyes) taking over on drums from Brinville and Sacrificio Bizarro's Alan Ponce replacing Coronel the same year before later handing the torch Fede Saurio in 2023. In the interim, vocalist Julián Reggi joined in 2022, precipitating a drastic change of sound: the influence of Deathspell Omega, hinted across their early work, came to the forefront (along with allusions to Mgła and Ved Buens Ende) of Psicosfera's third LP, Summa Negativa, released by Lavadome Productions in 2023.
