Just a fun little tracks poll. I only really knew the Santana, Sufjan Stevens and Can before. I would expect Santana to easily take this as it is an, I think, amazing classic.
Feel free to vote without listening, and vote for as many as you wish to, but only once per song (it's not a contest).
Can "Soul Desert" (included in Krautrock)
Dream Theater "Burning My Soul" (included in Prog Metal)
GPS "Window to the Soul" (included in Neo-Prog)
Santana "Soul Sacrifice" (included in JRF)
Sufjan Stevens "Impossible Soul" (not in PA, but under consideration)
------------- Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

Santana Soul Sacrifice. I particularly like the performance at Woodstock where Michael Shrieve delivers one of the all-time great drum solos.

That's my favourite version of it. Wonderful.

Dream Theater - Burning My Soul
So the poll results are not completely one-sided, two votes for that. I thought of this after reading a thread which mentioned this Dream Theater track, then the Santana and Sufjan Stevens immediately came to mind due to the titles.
...I say, it's green and then you tell me it's red Keep your thoughts and ideas locked inside of your head We've got someone, who can think for you instead And he sounds just like the last one
Twisting, turning, losing all sense of yearning Living and learning the pressure keeps on burning my soul Burning my soul, burning my soul Burning my soul, burning my soul...
----------------------------------
My top three would be the Santana, Sufjan Stevens and Can, the latter two being the only ones without recognition from respondents. I would not expect many here to be into that Sufjan Stevens. "Don't be distracted..."

None of them are soul songs.

^ ^^ Nice to see some Can recognition. It's multiple choice, by the way. I was not going to vote, but I hate to see that Sufjan Stevens with no votes. Other than parts of the epic/suite, it was not a particular favoyurite of mine at first, but now I love it, but then he is one of my very favourite artists (Illinois and other albums are masterpieces).

Can. Santana's Soul Sacrifice is a classic, but Soul Desert is the on I would rescue from a sinking ship.
