Part II is 1969, 1979 and 1989. One vote. In some ways 1969 seems like a feast or famine year. This is the feast. In 1979 we get into some electronics and avant along with the mammoth The Wall. And then the fairly weak year of 1989, although the Marillion, Fates Warning and Djam Karet albums are special to me.

Marillion. I like the melancholic version of the band over the more theatrical Fish lead version.

Fates Warning - Perfect Symmetry, I have always considered it perfect.

Awesome poll, love lots. In fact all of the 1969 and 1979 albums are favourites of mine that I would like to vote for, plus I like the Voivod. While Art Zoyd tempts me as that band means so much to me and that was the album that got me into Art Zoyd, Amidst that very strong selection, I went with Heldon's Stand By.
Incidentally, my top two listed albums for each year at AP are (and such rankings are quite arbitrary often):
1969: East Of Eden - Mercator Projected & The Soft Machine - Volume Two 1979: Henry Cow - Western Culture & Tubeway Army - Replicas 1989: Cardiacs - On Land And In The Sea & Thinking Plague - In This Life

Tangerine Dream, Djam Karet, Fates Warning, Santana, Heldon...many of my favorite bands. What madness is this?
Incredibly, Force Majeure has no votes and it's one of their very best recordings. Now it does.

This album should be leading right? I always seem to come down to it and Hot Rats and I usually pick Zappa. They are part of my top three along with Fates Warning.

My vote as well. A 5 star Prog metal album sure, but more than that, it was the album that led me to Prog

My last year of high school was 1979 and I remember The Wall and Breakfast In America as being huge at our school. And the whole country really.

I have a hard time with Fish's theatrics. I can handle Misplaced Childhood the best in that regard. Season's End makes me nostalgic. A special record.

So glad you voted for this one. Again "special" is a word I would relate to this album as well as Seasons End. I just think of these dark soundscapes and still remembering where I was one time when listening to this record back in the day on a trip.

They showed up on my Pandora radar one day. Very interesting band out of Cali methinks.
Still …. I went with KC, which remains a fine album that has withstood the test of time. Lake, Fripp, and co. sound so good on that rendition but it wouldn’t last.

Many good things here! Favourite RIO bands Art Zoyd and Univers Zero pitched against each other with Zappa and ADII thrown in. Actually there are many more good ones, as everyone knows.
Heresie, Musique pour l'Odyssee Phallus Dei currently stand at zero votes of those I love most. Today I feel like voting for Phallus Dei.

Daniel Denis is drumming on both the "Heresie" album and the Art Zoyd record listed here. Neither have votes right now.

I normally would include both the East Of Eden and Thinking Plague records. Nice pick too with Heldon, an absolute favourite when it comes to electronics.
