I, too, chanced upon that upload last night! It was really late, so I'll have to watch it sooner than later.

Hi,
AWESOME
No doubt the best album I have heard this year, and the quality of the playing and group, was amazing and insane, and not something that you will ever find around. This just makes so much progressive and progrock look and sound so small!!!
What a great band!
One little thing that is weird ... the lyrics, as subtitles (no worries there) but they are a touch too slow all the way through out the film. But that's a bit of a minor issue, as I think that most of us that will watch this already know the lyrics.
Fantastic stuff. I'll purchase the CD's/DVD for sure ... this is too good not to have.
... And just watching George, Napoleon, Ruth, Chester, Frank, Jeff ... yeah ... about time this gets redone and sent out, and we know they have a heck of a lot more in the vault!

Very jazzy set from Zappa and his phenomenal band.

^It is amazing, but I like Roxy: The Movie better. The dual drumming on "Cheepnis - Percussion" is magical.

^I watched the ENTIRE film, it was amazing!! Grump, I need to watch Roxy per your recommendation!
FZ invented a very cool fusion of jazz, blues-rock, American soul/R&B, and even some classical elements!!
I'd seen him in concert twice, so I knew the material and players very well. 5 stars!!

Frank Zappa November 28, 1980 Uptown Theatre - Chicago

^Saw Frank several times when he came to Kansas City in the mid 70's to mid 80's. Once he played two shows in one night at the Uptown Theater in KC. Saw both shows, and the set lists were completely different. Always amazing shows.

Just watched it on YT through my smart TV app. Great to watch on a bigger screen! Quality stuff from Frank and co. as always. And I never knew the origin of the name "Dupree's Paradise"!

Hi,
This was better than "Roxy & Elsewhere" which was, sadly enough a bunch of different shows in different places, for the most part, and you really don't get to enjoy and appreciate the work of the band non stop even though it is the same folks.
Here it was from the start to the end, and you had a chance to just fly with it, and appreciate some nifty musicianship that just drove the whole thing to a level that the majority of rock bands will never come close to.
A really nice thing to see that brings back the immense joy of "progressive music" when it really counts, instead of it being a mirror image of a copy!

Thanks, M, that is an excellent review, and I have to agree!! I was transfixed and watched the entire production from beginning to end!
I only wish more of our prog heroes had done projects like this at the height of their creativity....the movie "Yessongs" is fun, but full of crappy editing & camera-work. And I don't think there is any movie of "The Lamb" or "Tales."
BTW, I just turned 70 years young on July 1! Still rocking in Arizona!!
