This triumvirate of Pink Floyd albums have consistently been in the top 10 albums on the front page for most of the time I've been a member here. So which is your favourite, please vote, state, and discuss. :) N.B. I have deliberately excluded the options 'All of them' or 'None of them' making it a straight three way battle. 1. WYWH - just flawless. 2. DSotM - slightly less flawless yet overplayed on FM radio. 3. Animals - some good moments, but ultimately a Waters solo w/special guests. |

Animals > WYWH > DSOTM All 3 of these have been my all time favorite album at on time. Started with DSOTM when I was just discovering music. WYWH was next throughout my teens, adored Shine On above all else. Finally as my tastes broadened Animals took over, love the darkness, guitar sound, and nihilism. It's still top 5 all time for me. Animals. The only one of the three which I don't skip anything. Gilmour's guitar on Dogs is my favorite guitar by him or almost anyone. WYWH. Shine on You Crazy Diamond is their creative peak. Wish You Were Here is a song I don't care if I ever hear again. DSotM. Too overplayed beginning in the 1970s. I'm sick of about half of it. |

DSotM WYWH Animals Dark Side is whined about because it's been overplayed; however, it is a seamless and sonic conceptual masterpiece.
