Hi everybody....

I have been listening to the new My Morning Jacket (Z), along with some other stuff (on shuffle) and am drawn more and more to this album. Many sounds and elements, and whole songs, seem to feel like progressive rock to me, although I know they have been categorized otherwise in the past. In general, categories are useless except perhaps when directing someone to a similar band to band A, etc.

But, if any of you know their stuff, or this release, what do you think....fit into prog?

Popular pseudo-indie emo does not equal prog.   I've got the CD, and I enjoy it, though.

That sounds sort of...elitist or something to me, no offense. I don't think they are that popular, as far as I know...and emo? That doesn't seem right to me...there seem to be a few songs on the new cd that feel very prog like to me.

They're on Conor Oberst's label.
