hello!

does anyone know a belgian group called  dEUS ??

In my opinion this band deserve a place in this amazing site because in my opinion they make music that can be considered Progressive!

And you? what do you think?

To make harmony out of discord requires great skill and I think that you have to understand a bit about music to appreciate that!

Interesting had a minor hit in Uk, which included a lift of the bass riff of Zappa's Must Be Camel. At the time pop fans said they were like Portishead????!!! However, I can think of 50 artists who should be included here before we even contemplate a band that took 10 years between albums.

Deus is God in Latin and also in Portuguese (the more Latin of the languages).

dEUS are from Antwerp and make excellent alternative rock much the same way Radiohead does and are highly rated amongst progheads who know of them.

Whether I would place them in the Archives is subject to reflection, but then again Radioihead is here.

All in all I would rather not having both groups in the Archives but could live with them being here.

I really like dEUS I have all their albums and have seen them live on numerous occasions.
They have an extremely eclectic canon of material. There are definately prog influences in there but dEUS.Prog-Rock;...not really.

Do 'The Stanley' otherwise I'll thrash you with some rhubarb.

How many albums have there been - I have WCS, and read recently the latest album is first since WCS (i.e. as I said ~10 year gap - true?)

-Worse Case Scenario

-In A Bar Somewhere Under The Sea

-3rd album whose name I forget but something with Human Crash Test

-And the latest, that just came out.

the problem is that you find many EP or Maxi Cds and it gets confusing

The third CD is called 'The Ideal Crash' (with the gem 'Instant Street' on it) and is highly recommended

the new cd is pocket revolution, yet another great album!

I must say I really love their music, especially the first two albums, never before I considered them as being prog though. Their music is sparkling, creative, innovating and wasn't sounding as anything I ever heard before back in 1993 - 1994 when the debut was released.
