I decided to go for a wander at lunchtime today - things are pretty quiet at work - and popped into my favourite second-hand CD shop here in Glasgow.

One disc immediately caught my eye, and based completely on what I've read here on Prog Archives I reached into my wallet and handed over £4 ($6) for Solaris' "Martian Chronicles".

So what can I look forward to when I get home and give it a spin?

SOLARIS IS AN EXCELLENT BAND, MARTIAN CHRONICLES IS AN EXCELLENT ALBUM, BESIDES NOSTRADAMUS BOOK OF PROPHECIES, THIS ARE THEIR BEST WORK, QUIT GOOD MUSIC, AND WONDERFUL CONCEPT.

Solid symphonic prog, maybe a little cheesy but given the state of sypmh-prog in the 1980s, not bad at all. Used to be a favorite of mine, actually. Nostradamus is also decent but IMHO the rest of their catalog that I've heard isn't worth your time.
