Am I the only person who dislikes them?  I cannot find a single bad review.  I don't find them very progressive for starters and their singer Tom Englund's vocal style annoys me.

They sound like a '80s hair metal band, a bit like Bon Jovi.

I've decided Power Metal is not my genre.

I don't think they're that great either. Talented for sure, but not different or memorable, at least from the couple albums I have heard.

I have not heard much of them , but they don't seem to be very exciting, not a bad band though.

That's good to hear then, I thought I was in the minority.  I have 10 tunes by them, so I'm not basing it on one tune either.

I guess I just don't like them.

I like Evergrey, I agree though that they aren't memorable.

The vocals style is great, he's got a f**king amazing voice..

Not exactly Power Metal ... Rhapsody or Kamelot are Power Metal. Evergrey are just some sort of dark Neo-Prog Metal with occasional influences of Power Metal.

But I don't hear Bon Jovi at all, in none of t heir albums ...

I've heard all their albums and think they're quite boring.

I don't mean Bon Jovi as an individual band, I mean the singer sounds like he should be in an '80s hair metal band personally and it puts me off.  I am not denying he has an amazing voice, but it's just not my cup of tea really.

Each to their own.

I personally like them, but they aren't my favourite prog metal band by some way.  I think:

  • The Dark Discovery 2.5/5
  • Dominance Solitude Tragedy 3/5
  • In Search Of Truth 3.5/5
  • Recreation Day 4/5
  • The Inner Circle 3.5/5
  • A Night To Remember 3.5/5

I'm sure that won't please Ed, but there you go!!

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson
