Are there any blind guardian fans in the forum? it would be interesting to change opinions about their music and share expectations about how their new album is going to sound like

Spot on! here we are... one of my most favourite bands...

Of course my fav album is 'Nightfall...' followed by 'Imaginations...'

I can't really find any weak record, their last one though was inferior of what I expected

their first ones are quite raw, but if you are used to old Helloween it's fine

I have just checked some samples from the single, they sound promising

edit: I just forgot: Somewhere far beyond changed the route of this band - towards best

Blind Guardian are definetly  a good band. Perhaps my favorite power metal band. I only have Tales from the Twilight World, and it's a great album.  A Night at the Opera and Battalions of Fear are good, too. I really want to get Nightfall in Middle Earth and Imaginations from the Other Side .

BG are one of my all-time favorites. Amazing live and in the studio. My favorite is probably Somewhere Far Beyond, but they are all great. I really want to pick up the live DVD, but haven't gotten around to it yet (it's kinda expensive).

I expect the new album to be pretty good, but I'm not sure exactly what it will be like. I'm guessing it will be more in the vein of A Night At the Opera, but I'm sure they'll progress even further, probably venturing into more bombastic, progressive arrangements.

I have Somewhere Far Beyond and Imaginations and Forgotten Tales ...

Despite some awful covers (Mr Sandman, Surfin' USA and Get To France in particular) I also really like Forgotten Tales ... the acoustic version of Mordred's Song is excellent ... tying A Past And Future Secret for my all time favourite Blind Guardian song

I really like Blind Guardian.  I have Battalions of Fear, Somewhere Far Beyond, Nighfall in Middle Earth and A Night at the Opera.  I'm really really looking forward to thier new cd.  I find Kursch's vocals to be amazing but I wonder how they're going to hold up without Thomen Stauch.  On a side note, does anybody here like Demons and Wizards at all?  They're nowhere near as good as BG but I still enjoy them.

my all time favorite BG song is And then there was silence. especially the ending - its so dramatic. it actually makes me wanna cry every time i listen to it    Sorrow and defeat       I think night at the opera is a great album thoygh it was kinda hard for me to "enter" it. i expect new album to be a bit back to imaginations. dont know why. though im sure there will be lots of orchestra sounds like in night at the opera. demons and wizards are great. though their second album disapointed me a bit. i expected it to be a bit more progressive nice version of immigrants song though i believe that the biggest D&W problem is that they are influenced to much by shaffer. im not really into iced earths music. if it wasnt for hansi im sure i wouldnt like D&W at all. About vocals. yeah Hansis vocal is one of my favorites. so powerful... A pity about Thomen... i loved his drumming    i wonder if hes gonna retire or play in some other band. well thats it.. sorry for my terrible English

I love Blind Guardian, they definately get better and more unique with every album.  Quite possibly the most unique Power Metal band.

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

I support that, albums like A Night at the Opera and Nightfall in Middle Earth are worthy additions to the archive.

It all depends on whether you think that a successful combination of classical music and metal is progressive.

I bought Nightfall in Middle Earth, w00t! I'm gonna buy A Night at the Opera next, since I can't find Imaginations from the Other Side around here.

i think all albums starting from somewhere far beyond are really worth buying. the earlier releases are for fans only. there are some good songs but not worth to spend money for it. and imaginations nightfall and night at the.. are a MUST    Night at the opera should be bought just to listen to And then there was silence...damn its good
