30 second samples of every song. I wish we could hear more.

The Flower Kings - Paradox Hotel

The album is said to be a lot less complex than Adam and Eve and Unfold the Future, and also it seems to be a lot more conventional this time. No more bombastic ELP, Yes, UK, and Genesis excerpts...

On the upside, Paradox Hotel is more of a group effort. Many other albums seem to be Roine Stolt's creation for the most part.

I hope so because Adam & Eve was just plain awful

Nice.

I thought after the brilliant Unfold the Future that Adam & Eve was a step back for them.

Sounds nice ... but the samples only scratch the surface. I guess it will really be like a cross between Flower Power and Unfold the Future.

Does it really matter whether you get to listen to the album tomorrow - or in a month?

On the contrary, Roine Stolt has mentioned several times that The Flower Kings is a rock band and not a jazz-rock band. Unfold The Future is one of a kind, and will never occur again. This makes me sad, but Stolt's the musician - not you or I. Paradox Hotel seems to be like the pre-Rainmaker era.

Does it really matter whether I download the album ahead of time if I'm going to buy the album anyways? There's only potential for one buy of the album from me, so essentially the Flower Kings experience no effects because of me.

I'm not trying to justify illegal downloading, I'm just saying if I illegally download AND buy Paradox Hotel the Flower Kings are NOT hurt. Honestly that's all I care about, not hurting the artists.

Maybe I don't have patience, but I do have time.

Flower Power IS pre-Rainmaker. I only mentioned Unfold the Future because some of the samples reminded me of it.

I disagree with the Unfold The Future comment.

Yeah, well it definitely sounds like Flower Power... maybe slightly more normal.

I agree about A & E, jeez, that album was so devoid of melodies....weird, I was so disappointed after 'Unfold..'..hope this new one is good. However, I sometimes wonder how Stolt can keep coming up with stuff
