Wow, I wen't to my local record store today, and the owner told me he had something that I'd might like, it was the first record by the German group Frumpy; All Will Be Changed from 1970.
I was played the first side in the shop, and was really amazed, but unfortunately it was too expensive, so I couldn't buy it, it costed what is equivalent to approx 100$. Don't know if it's out on CD, but I really couldn't care less.. Since it isn't in the archive for me to read about, I would like to hear some opinions from fellow prog-enthusiast, It really caught my interest, i didn't get a very concentrated listen though, but especially the organ-work was really appealing, is it worth 100$?

I don't know this album, but I do own Frumpy 2. It might not help you very much but this is a nice album with 4 long tracks with typical 70ies rock with progressive influences. Nice vocals from Inga Rumpf, by the way. ------------- Dona Nobis Pacem |

I haven't heard it yet but it's no surprise that it's so
expensive...most first pressings of krautrock albums recorded in the
late 60's and 70's are very expensive nowadays but in this genre the
price often doesn't tell anything about the musical value of the
record

Yeah, tell me about it, I collect records with a growing interest in Krautrock, and it is pretty expensive. I buy a lot of records in the price range 30-70$, but rarely in the 100$ category. And of course the estimated price value doesn't tell much about the musical quality in all circomstances, but I'm actually surprised that it often does so. btw. In "Cosmic Price Guide to Original Krautrock Records, 2006" it's listed with a mint value of 100€, as is their second LP, their following records cost less than 25€. |

we have them both on vinyl, and they are excellent albums. "All Will Be Changed" has kind of a gimmick cover, which adds to the price, of course. Frumpy are prog-related, in my opinion. try their live album; it is available as double CD with a few bonus tracks. really great stuff. Inga really rocks! also try out the German band Atlantis (also with Inga Rumpf). they are less prog-related, though they have their prog moments, especially on "It's Getting Better". the live album of Atlantis is fantastic again (and almost has the same line-up as Frumpy)

| I own a copy of FRUMPY's "All Will Be Changed" (Repertoire Records). It is a fairly good German prog group formed in 1969 from a band called The City Preachers (in which Dagmar Krause played). Their sound is dominated by Jean-Jacques Kravetz's keyboards and it contains two suites ("Rosalie" and "Floating"), who are divided into small pieces (songs). |

the City Preachers were a very important band for the development of rock music. not only did they have the two outstanding female vocalists Dagmar Krause and Inga Rumpf, their drummer was a certain Udo Lindenberg, who played with Passport for a short time before starting a very successfull solo carreer as a singer in Germany. his solo albums have nothing to do with prog though
