Well, there's a rather extensive thread on the subject, it's a very
funny read (you can search for it). I quite like the Moving Gelatine
Plates album cover by the way, want the album.

The cover of meddle is probibly one of my favorites. It is part of an ear by the way. The worst is LOVE BEACH you cant get any cheesier then that. ------------- true as a lobster in a pteredaktyl's underpants.  |

How? Nursery Cryme is a great cover. Foxtrot's cover is very extensive (including the fact that Nursery Cryme is far in the backgroung.) Selling England is a dipiction of the lawnmower in "I know what I like" and a depiction of the theme of "Selling England" in general. The Lamb's cover is about Rael obviously and very interesting. I used to think Meddle was a crop field, that aliens "meddled" with and put crop circles into. I still can't figure out Saucerful but I love it. Juicy Lucy's cover with Zelda Plum on it... ewww. Not prog I know, but worthy of a mention nevertheless! I'm trying to think of a bad prog cover... can't think of any. I guess Aerosol Grey Machine maybe considered a bit uninspired, but the album was put out quickly, so it's understandable. -------------

Trick of the Tail has a great cover too... trespass is cool, as for wind and wuthering... Im not sure... the bird/leaves tree thing is kinda... neat.. probably the weakest of the lot, but still nowhere near 'bad' |

You'll be hard-pressed to find a bigger fan than myself but I agree when it comes to Nursery Cryme and Foxtrot. Back in the day when an album cover was sometimes a huge factor in the decison of whether or not to give and unfamiliar band a try, these two covers appeared to be drawn and colored by a 12 year-old and may have deterred a lot of record buyers from discovering the incredible music inside.
