The only album I've heard is excellent ... Mercator Projected ... it's more a mix of Eastern styles, blues and pysch ... I think the Irish style you're speaking of is Jig-A-Jig ... apparently it's a bit of an anomaly in terms of East Of Eden's overall sound/style ...

But I'm sure our resident experts like Sean Trane and Dick Heath will tell you more ...

"Death to Utopia! Death to faith! Death to love! Death to hope?" thunders the 20th century. "Surrender, you pathetic dreamer.”

"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."

I, too, have only heard Mercator Projected, but I definitely recommend it.

I have 'Mercator Projected' and 'Snafu'; 'Mercator' was by far the strongest, the other being good but not as distinctive as their debut.

Their first two albums are both masterpieces.

"Mercator Projected" (1969) is an original blend of rock, free, avant-garde and oriental music, with the sound of Dave Arbus's violin in more evidence. "Snafu" is their second LP released in 1970 (the best for me); The sound is almost the same as the first album, but it's a much more omogeneous and mature work.

P.S. I think they should be included in the Indo-Prog/Raga Rock category.
