i dont know which is best but i like Snafu . i would imagine it is a good starting point. |

The only album I've heard is excellent ... Mercator Projected ... it's
more a mix of Eastern styles, blues and pysch ... I think the Irish
style you're speaking of is Jig-A-Jig ... apparently it's a bit of an
anomaly in terms of East Of Eden's overall sound/style ... But I'm sure our resident experts like Sean Trane and Dick Heath will tell you more ...  ------------- "Death to Utopia! Death to faith! I, too, have only heard Mercator Projected, but I definitely recommend it.

Their first two albums are both masterpieces. "Mercator Projected" (1969) is an original blend of rock, free, avant-garde and oriental music, with the sound of Dave Arbus's violin in more evidence. "Snafu" is their second LP released in 1970 (the best for me); The sound is almost the same as the first album, but it's a much more omogeneous and mature work. P.S. I think they should be included in the Indo-Prog/Raga Rock category. |
