Last week i went to a concert of this band, of part of a festival in Mexico City but why?

Before that concert i have never listened to them, but i decided to go, because in the program, it says that Bang on a Can would play Music for Airports, the original Brian Eno`s album, when i read that, i immediately decided to buy a ticket.

When i came to the concert, the first song was a one man song, the guitarist playing some ambient music, ala Mike Oldfield, 10 minutes of great guitar arrangements, then to the scene all the band : Guitarist, a flute and sax man, a percussions man, a bass man, a cello woman and a piano woman.

They played some jazzy classical pieces, all of them great pieces, and then what i was expecting, they played the whole Music for Airports album of Brian Eno, it was a beautiful performance, 2 hours of beautiful music, it was new for me , because before that i havent seen a concert of ambient music, and it was a great experience, when they finished Music for Airports, they played nexy two songs from Another Green World, and then the concert was over.

Does anybody of you know something about Bang on a  Can?

i have the CD where they cover Terry Riley's "in C" composition, very good stuff, I think they're kind of an improv troupe from the east coast, (NY perhaps), that does a lot of musical interpretations of other artists work as well some original pieces, definitely like to hear more from them,

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.
