Theyre a japanese psychedelic hard rock band, their songs are usually 15 minutes long or longer and they have an album called "starless and bible black sabbath"

Starless and Bible Black Sabbath is excellent. The second track is unusual for them in that they rock out !
They are very prolific, maybe a bit too prolific in as much as ,you cannot tell one album from another other than the clever titles referencing their influences.

Do 'The Stanley' otherwise I'll thrash you with some rhubarb.

It seems only at first that you can't tell which album you are listening. Some are more blues-ey, folk-ish or rocking. An excellent band and a search would show that they were discussed more than one time. The only objection might only come from prog-rock purists.

Don't get me wrong.I love AMT etc. in all their guises but, sometimes 'I can't see the wood for the trees' if you know what I mean.

well, they are definitely progressive and, in my opinion, better than the other modern proggers Porcupine Tree and Mars Volta and should be up there with them.

^ totally agree, they should be here. They're not better than TMV, but in their genre they rocks!

AMT are unique...and Kawabata Makoto is a genius.
A lot of records make reference to other artists:

-In C (This one of my fav. albums of AMT)
-Electric Heavyland (This is the one)
-Born to Be Wild In the USA 2000
-Close Encounters of The Mutants
-Does the Cosmic Shepherd Dream of Electric Tapirs?
-Minstrel In The Galaxy
-St. Captain Freakout & The Magic Bamboo Request
-Monster of The Universe EP
-41st Century Splendid Man EP
-Starless And Bible Black Sabbath
-Absolutely Freak Out. Zap Your Mind!!

This collective highly recommended for those who are looking something new, heavy and pyschedelic.

I suppose they could be here, although I've always thought of them more as pure psychedelic noise than progressive rock.

They put out a few too many releases for me to even care about any more, these are some that I really liked, La Novia, Troubadours from another World, Absolute Freak Out Zap Your Mind!, Univers zen ou de Zero a Zero, Mantra of Love, Magical Power From Mars,

Also the AMT/Gong collaberation album "Acid Motherhood" was excellent IMO,

plus the Kawabata/Yoshida collab CD Acid Mothers Temple SWR, I like a lot
