No, don't edit it, some say that Malory's tale is based on fact.

I voted for Merlin because when I visited the ruins of King Arthurs Castle at Tintagel I swear I could feel his magic power lingering...

Merlin by a long shot.

Gandalf's pretty badass for killing the Balrog, and all...

but can he age _backwards_? Didn't think so.

Gotta go with Gandalf because my nephew has a Corgi named Merlin and he is less than spellbinding.

When I found out Gandalf was played by a young guy (he was, right?), I stopped liking him.  Merlin, on the other hand, is the real deal.

Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander
Wizard's First Rule
"People are stupid. They will believe anything they want to be true or fear to be true."

I love the Zedd character, he's more wise than he appears under his old grandfather like persona.

Of Course Richard Rahl is great also, but I disagree with his political views so I will not call him my favourite.

Rhand Althor is also one of my favourites, as is Pug and many others.

Merlin I find to be not really symphatetic, he is following his own hidden agenda, so is Gandalf, but in the latter case Gandalf is really out there fighting evil, and putting his magic where his mouth is.
